GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING, July 1, 2010
The meeting was called to order by President, Grace Hoya at 7:00 P.M. Grace asked everyone to please turn off their cell phones.
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were approved as printed in the newsletter.
Sara Kelly sent a thinking of you card to Deolinda Rhoads and a sympathy card to Jeannie Sisco.
ATC: Adena Joseph has accepted a job in Merced and will be moving, the guild will need a new chairperson for this committee if it is to continue.
LITTLE QUILT RAFFLE: Anna Koelewyn stated the donations for this month were Rosalie Hughes who donated a quilt, Pat Erickson who donated a Scrap bag, Patty O’Hare who donated the huge ruler and pins, and the Ricky Tims DVD was donated by Ricky Tims Super Quilt Seminars. Tickets are available for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.
Barbara Sindlinger gave a brief report on the Ricky Tims seminar. She said they had an incredible time and if you ever get the chance you should attend.
CHARITY QUILTS: Charlotte Meade stated there were two quilts turned in at the meeting. The committee gave fifteen quilts to the dialysis center. There were twenty four bolts of fabric donated by M & S Textiles. These fabrics will be sold to the members at the next guild meeting for $5/yard or $60 for the whole bolt.
KINGS FAIR: The fair is in need of docents and sewers. Charlotte Meade will take kits and fabrics for sewers.
BLOCK OF THE MONTH: The winner of the blocks was Anna Koelewyn. Next months block is a nine patch.
PROGRAMS: Deolinda Rhoads reported on upcoming speakers and classes.
GREAT LITTLE QUILT SALE: The sale will be held on Sunday, July 4, 2010 at the park in Lemoore. Volunteers are needed to help at the sale.
OPPORTUNITY QUILT: Mary Jane Loya and any volunteers will sell tickets at the Great Little Quilt Sale. The goal for tickets sales is $2,500.00.
MEMBERSHIP: There were two guests and nineteen members in attendance however she noticed that there were more members but they hadn’t signed in.
ELECTIONS: Anna Koelewyn introduced the new executive board and committee chairs who will be inducted at the August meeting.
Winners of the Little Quilt Raffle were: Tea Pot; Rosalie Hughes, Quilt; Carole Adams, Ruler; Mona Bolen, CD; Carol Chadwick, Scrap Bag; Anotinette Gonzales and Pins; Rosalie Hughes.
Rosalie Hughes and Margaret Davis showed the quilts received for the Great Little Quilt Sale. They were great. There was a total of thirty-one quilts received thus far.
ANNOUCNEMENTS: There will be a showing of quilts in Tulare at the Tulare Historical Museum, showing quilts made by our own Debbie VanFossen and Ann Hinman. The exhibit will be open from July 1 through September 4, 2010.
Elaine Berry reported the loss of her wallet at Panera Bakery. She advised everyone to photocopy all cards in their wallet and to keep control of their purses and items. Sheila Ockey also reported on her recent identity theft, and the problems she is having clearing up this matter.

BOARD MEETING, May 26, 2010
Meeting was called to order by President, Grace Hoya at 6:40 P.M.
Secretary and Treasurer’s reports accepted as printed in the newsletter.
OPPORTUNITY QUILT: Charlotte Rogers and Kristin Eilers will do the quilt for 2010/2011. It was reported ticket sales thus far are $1,030.00.
CHALLENGE QUILT: Anna Koelewyn was unable to attend meeting due to illness. The challenge quilts will be revealed at the June meeting.
LIBRARY: Jodie Bissig is volunteering in the library in the absence of Cheryl Mitchell.
KINGS FAIR: A request was made for volunteers for the fair. There is a need for docents and people to sell tickets for the Opportunity Quilt. Please contact Renee Booth if you can do any of these jobs. She also needs volunteers to sew.
GREAT LITTLE QUILT SALE: Margaret Davis reported the committee has been in touch with Lemoore and was advised the cost of the spaces may be raised for this event. There has been twenty four quilts donated at this point. The sale will be conducted at Navy Day in the Park in Lemoore on July 4, 2010. Help is badly needed for this event. Also need tables, canapés, coolers and helpers.
RICKY TIMS: The seminar is scheduled June 24/27. Barbara Sindlinger has received give away gifts (2 DVD’s, 2 patterns and 4 CD’s) .
NEWSLETTER: Barbara Sindlinger will be copying the newsletter at Sierra Vista Mall. The cost will be only 2 cents per copy. A big savings for the guild. Thanks Barb.
NOMINATING: Anna Koelewyn is in charge of nominating. She has no one to run for president and Shiela Ockey has volunteered to assist Anna.
PROGRAMS: Deolinda Rhoads will be doing programs for 2010/2011. She already has three programs booked.
PARLIMENTARIAN: Kathy Morrison called a meeting of the committee for June 6, 2010. The committee consists of Kathy, Charlotte Rogers and Rita Buchler. The call was made to table the committee until after the meeting. The committee will review the by-laws and present any recommended changes to the membership.
NEW BUSINESS: It was proposed to the board that the guild participate in Share Rewards. This is a program through Savemart where participants share in the sales of the market. The funds would go to the guild. There was no decision made on this program.
