I was a little disappointed that we did not have more quilts to view at the trunk show, besides that fact, I hope you all learned a few tips. The workshop on Saturday was very fast paced and educational, it was like being in school, let me tell you. Hopefully, I will remember what I learned and use it to win in the BIG shows!!

I still have room in Kathy Shaker's class, EASY biased covered curves, I saw her teach at PIQf  and she makes it easy. She will be bringing some fabric for us to use, and we have the choice of putting  our blocks up  for a raffle and winning them all or going home with just the ones you make yourself.  Remeber you need to buy the book, which I myself have not done yet!!  The class is $30 and will be at the Banister Studio, at the Kings Art Center.

Mary Mashuta will be here in June, teaching us the wagon wheel block, she will discuss color and design  during the workshop and will have templates for sale at only $12. You need the book "confetti quilts". There is still room in this workshop also.

All for now.

As a reminder, I will no longer sign people up for workshops unless you pay at time of signing up and there will be no refunds (unless we cancel the class).  Please sign up 1 month before the speaker is to appear at a minimum, I will only give refunds if you find a replacement for yourself or if there is an emergency that has occurred.  I really didn't want it to be this way, but this is how the other guilds handle it and the way we have in the past. These workshops are for you to increase your creativity and skills, you can't get education like this, from the speakers I have hired at this price anywhere else. So take advantage of the opportunity and enjoy.

I have 2 workshops scheduled (see below) but if there is a lack of participation, I need to cancel one of them by October 2nd. This workshop will be by Cinde Rinne, a very talented artist, we will have lots of fun in the workshop and I believe she gives us a taste of that fun at the lecture.

November 3 - Workshop The Silk Road - Oriental Scroll    Simplicity, quietness and peacefulness are expressed as you create a fabulous oriental scroll. This art quilt collage incorporates oriental fabrics of cottons, silks and rice paper. You add the shimmer of metallic threads and opalescent paints. Express a Haiku as an art quilt.
